LONDON, 18 Dec. 1998 - Five of the world's largest information technology companies have joined forces in announcing a major conference in Germany to discuss their vision, business strategies and 'best practices' for implementing an IT architecture for mission critical computing in the next millennium.

Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, EMC, Oracle and SAP - who jointly represent a $100 billion mission critical 'ecosystem' - will hold the conference entitled Mission Critical Computing: "Harnessing the Power of Global Information" on 11-12 Feb. '99 at the The Kurhaus in Wiesbaden.

"Nowhere else can IT executives hear from such a select group of CEOs and business leaders about the future of mission critical computing, all in one location with one common agenda," said Mark Barounos, managing director, Hemisphere Information Services, the company organising the series.

The conference is based on four key business strategies - innovation, differentiation, operational and alliance strategies - bringing together influential speakers and technology market leaders from a broad range of disciplines who will give business leaders a thorough understanding of potential IT strategies and the inter-relationship between information and socio-economic advancement.
